All Day, Take & Make Kit: Newspaper Shark (PreK to grade 5) The kits are on a first come, first served basis, while supplies last. 6pm, Middle Eastern Cooking with Naela’s Organics In-Person at the  Hauppauge Public Library  Classroom B. The FREE series will run weekly through August, and will be hosted at various locations throughout the Town of Islip  Space is limited and is first come, first serve. Gates open at 6:30pm. 2pm, An Afternoon at the Movies: Jaws In-Person at the Hauppauge Public Library  Classroom B. Spend an entertaining afternoon at the library! Watch a popular new release movie every week on our large screen. For more info, call the library at 631-979-1600

4:30pm, Sensory Sand Play (ages 2-7 years, with caregiver) In-Person at the  Hauppauge Public Library  Classroom B. Come join A Time for Kids, Inc. in this sensory story time which encourages kids to tap, chant and sing along to books. 3pm, Ice Cream Social In-Person at the  Hauppauge Public Library  Classroom B. Enjoy a cool and delicious social event. Teen techies will be on hand to introduce you to our computer tablets. 7pm, Outdoor Movie: Hidden Figures Home (2 hours, 7 min) Hauppauge Public Library Parking Lot. Hidden Figures is the incredible story of Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan and Mary Jackson – brilliant African-American women working at NASA, who served as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in history: the launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit, a stunning achievement that restored the nation’s confidence, turned around the Space Race, and galvanized the world. Saturday, August 27

10:30 to 12pm, Intro to Fishing Clinic (children under age 15) Join Caleb Smith State Park Preserve staff at scenic Willow Pond for a children’s introduction to catch and release fishing. Discover the different types of fishing poles, tackle, and bait, and which is best to use in a fresh water pond. View casting demonstrations and a lesson on the different types of fish that make Willow Pond their home. Then stay for some catch and release fishing. Poles, tackle, and bait will be provided.
