All Day, Pick Up of Teen Take & Make Community Service Kit: Pet Treat Containers Volunteer Project Decorate food-safe glass containers with positive dog or cat sayings for area animal shelters. If you’re able to, include with your completed jar a donation of small treats. (1-hour service credit). Project deadline: Sunday, August 15. 8:15pm, FREE Drive-In Movie Night: How to Train Your Dragon: Gull Haven Golf Course, 1 Gullhaven Dr., Central Islip, The FREE series will run weekly through August, and will be hosted at various locations throughout the Town of Islip  Space is limited and is first come, first serve. 11am – 1pm, FREE Summer Food Service Central Islip Library, in coordination with Island Harvest, is holding a FREE summer food service every Tuesday and Friday from 11-1pm for kids and teens under 18. The service will run until September 3rd. 33 Hawthorne Avenue, Central Islip, 631-234-9333.

All Day Take & Make Baking Kit: Cinnamon Spiced Zucchini Chocolate Bread Follow Chef Rob’s recipe to make bread using local zucchini, chocolate chips, and spices for a delicious summer treat. Dry ingredients will be available for pickup on the dates listed for each kit, while supplies last. If picking up the ingredients curbside, please call ahead. 9:30am SCBE Public Meeting Notice is hereby given that the Suffolk County Board of Ethics will convene a public meeting in accordance with the provisions of the Governor’s Executive Order 202.1. All Day, Mocktail Pick Up: Adult Summer Reading Club Stop by the library on Thursdays to pick up a new recipe and a little something special to make a custom literary-themed drink. You can also chat with library staff to discuss the books you are reading. Earn a raffle ticket for every book you read for a chance to win a weekly prize to a local business. 5:30pm, FREE Fishing Clinic Town of Islip Department of Parks, Recreation & Cultural Affairs alongside NYSDEC will be hosting a free fishing Clinic. Loaner poles and bait will be provided. Only 25 spots are available. Register at 631-224-5430.

7pm, Youthful Aging, Ageless Consciousness Through Meditation Dr. Matthew Raider, national speaker and a contributing author to the book “Meditation as Medication for the Soul” by Rajinder Singh, will present a three-fold method of maintaining youthful function in advancing age. 7pm, Free Outdoor Concert: Penny Lane Beatles Tribute With superb harmonies and note for note precision, Penny Lane’s tribute to the Beatles spans their entire career, featuring all singles and favorite songs from the early days, Hard Day’s Night, Shea Stadium, Sgt. Pepper’s, Magical Mystery Tour and their rooftop concert.  Part of the library’s ‘Fridays Out Front’ series, this event will be held outside. Current safety guidelines for social distancing will be followed. Please bring chairs. In the event of inclement weather, concerts will be livestreamed on the library’s YouTube channel. On-going: Teen Virtual Community Service Projects Available The Hauppauge Public Library has multiple, on-going, teen virtual community service projects available for students in Grades 6-12. 8am – 4pm, Boater Safety CourseNYS law requires individuals born on or after May 1st, 1996 to obtain a boating certificate. Complete the Boater Safety Course and earn your lifetime certificate.
