All Day, Take & Make Craft Kit: Button Snail The kits are on a first come, first served basis, while supplies last. If picking up curbside, please call ahead so we can have it ready for when you arrive. For more info, call the library at 631-979-1600 or visit  Hauppauge Public Library

All Day, Pick Up of Teen Take & Make Community Service Kit: Soap and Washcloth Volunteer Project Make an easy “heat and pour” bar of soap with a toy inside. Add a washcloth animal using a fun folding technique. Items will be donated to families in need (1-hour service credit). Project deadline: Sunday, August 15. 8:30pm, FREE Drive-In Movie Night: The Lego Batman Movie: Casamento Park, 65 Muncey Rd., Bay Shore. The FREE series will run weekly through August, and will be hosted at various locations throughout the Town of Islip  Space is limited and is first come, first serve. Gates open at 7pm. 11am – 1pm, FREE Summer Food Service Central Islip Library, in coordination with Island Harvest, is holding a FREE summer food service every Tuesday and Friday from 11-1pm for kids and teens under 18. The service will run until September 3rd. 33 Hawthorne Avenue, Central Islip, 631-234-9333.

11:30am, Mexican Train In-Person at the Hauppauge Public Library Classroom B. Join us each week to play this exciting game of dominoes. For more info, call the library at 631-979-1600.

2pm, An Afternoon at the Movies: Percy vs Goliath In-Person at the Hauppauge Public Library Classroom B. Spend an entertaining afternoon at the library! Watch a popular new release movie every week on our large screen. For more info, call the library at 631-979-1600.

2pm, Connetquot River State Park 3-mile red trail hike. Meet in the main parking lot. There is a parking fee of $8. Free parking for Empire Pass holders. All participants must follow current CDC social distancing guidelines. Please wear comfortable shoes and bring water. Inclement weather cancels. Register here. 6pm, Dinner Cruise on the Great South Bay The Town of Islip is happy to announce the return of sunset dinner cruises aboard the Lauren Kristy Paddleboat as it sails to Atlantique Beach, Fire Island. $60 for residents. $67 for non-residents. All Day, Mocktail Pick Up: Adult Summer Reading Club Stop by the library on Thursdays to pick up a new recipe and a little something special to make a custom literary-themed drink. You can also chat with library staff to discuss the books you are reading. Earn a raffle ticket for every book you read for a chance to win a weekly prize to a local business. 10:30am, Miss Dara Sings Tales of the Swamp Sing along with Dara Linthwaite as she plays her guitar and sings beloved songs from childhood. 8:30pm, Free Outdoor Movie: Ice Age Twenty thousand years ago, as the Earth was being overrun with glaciers, Manny, Diego, Sid and Scrat head south to avoid a bad case of global frostbite and embark on a hilarious quest to reunite a human baby with his tribe. On-going: Teen Virtual Community Service Projects Available The Hauppauge Public Library has multiple, on-going, teen virtual community service projects available for students in Grades 6-12.
