10am Tiny Tots: Nature Discoveries at Caleb Smith State Park. Explore the natural world around us. For children ages 3-5 with their caregivers.
1:30pm Take a Hike! at Connetquot River State Park. Looking for a fun activity to do during your winter break? Get outside and explore the trails of the preserve during a guided hike! Enjoy the crisp air as we will keep our eyes open for winter wildlife.
2pm SCWA Education Tour at SCWA Education Center. The Education Center celebrates SCWA’s history, provides a glimpse into the future of the public water supply and, most importantly, teaches the public about the vital role they play in protecting our most precious resource—our underground drinking water supply.
Friday, February 21
10am Tiny Tots: Nature Discoveries at Sunken Meadow State Park. Explore the natural world around us. These programs will connect children and their parents with nature through short walks, animal visitors, and crafts. Children ages 3 -5 .
1:30pm Meet the Animals at Connetquot River State Park. Come out to the Preserve and meet the animals of the Long Island Regional Environmental Office! Learn about each animal and hear their unique stories during an up close and personal indoor lecture.
6:30pm Ice Cream Party Volunteers at Hauppauge Public Library. Help serve ice cream and conduct craft activities with children who participated in the winter reading club. (1 hour service credit) Grades 6-12.
Saturday, February 22
10am Toy Paramedic Volunteers at Hauppauge Public Library. Help keep the library’s toys clean and in tip-top shape. Grades 6-12.
