2pm, Hike: Avalon Nature Preserve Meet at Avalon entrance by the pond on Harbor Road and Main Street, Stony Brook. We will hike slightly over two miles on the Mill Pond Boardwalk Trail and Hilltop Meadow Orange Trail. Masks and an exercise waiver required. Participants must maintain social distance. 6pm, Battle of the Books Kickoff Party Battle of the Books (a reading trivia program for middle-schoolers) is coming soon! This summer, each participant will be asked to read six selected titles and compete against other readers for a chance to represent Hauppauge in a virtual county-wide trivia contest in August.
