All Day, Special Take & Make Craft for National Library Week (all ages): a READ magnet made with Scrabble Tiles. The kits are on a first come, first served basis, while supplies last. 2pm, Hike: Blydenburgh County Park, Enjoy a beautiful 2.5 hike near the lake. Meet at the north entrance parking lot off of New Mill Road. Masks and an exercise waiver required. Inclement weather cancels. Please call the library in the morning to confirm. 631-979-1600   Hauppauge Public Library

10:30am, Walking Club Put on your walking shoes and join us at the library for an invigorating outdoor walk around the library parking lot. This is a recurring event. 12pm, Larry Swanson Waste on Wednesdays: Waste 101 Webinar A presentation that provides the audience with an overview of waste management practices across the Unites States with a more focused review of Long Island. 7pm, Book Discussion: The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett Read this novel about identical twin sisters who grow up together in small-town Louisiana before choosing very different lives. Years later, one sister lives with her black daughter in the same town, while the other secretly passes for white. 9:30am, Paper Shredding A shredding truck from A Shred Away will be in the library parking lot for shredding of your personal documents. It’s a perfect opportunity to protect your privacy and get rid of clutter. Please no newspapers, magazines, or garbage.
