11am, Rip It Up! Virtual Tour of Pollock-Krasner House and Painting Demo Education Coordinator, Joyce Raimondo, guides you through Lee Krasner and Jackson Pollock’s home and studio – a national landmark in East Hampton. Then, inspired by Lee Krasner’s technique, work alongside Joyce as she demonstrates how you can create bold abstract art by ripping up your painting, pasting the pieces, and painting back into it to create a new composition. 7pm, Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV) Author Chat with Brian Belovitch, author of TransFigured: My Journey from Boy to Girl to Woman to Man. TDOV is dedicated to celebrating transgender people and raising awareness of discrimination faced by transgender people worldwide, as well as a celebration of their contributions to society. All Day, Announcement: On-going Teen Virtual Community Service Projects Available The Hauppauge Public Library has multiple, on-going, teen virtual community service projects available for students in Grades 6-12. No registration required. Please visit our website hauppaugelibrary.org/volunteer for full details on how to complete each project and instructions on how to obtain your community service credit. Each newsletter season, you may do additional virtual projects that were previously completed if you wish.
