Long Island Segment of NYS Birding Trail Now Open

The Long Island segment of the New York State Birding Trail is officially open! Birdwatching experts and amateurs alike can enjoy viewing a wide variety of bird species at any of the 3 locations in Nassau County and 17 locations in Suffolk County. The Long Island segment features a multitude of bird habitats such as woodlands, salt marshes, sandy pine barrens, and coastal locations. Many of the locations are accessible by public transportation so that more people can experience the wonders of birding.
