Create a Personal Mandala (Zoom)
June 8, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
In this no rules workshop, you create your own expressive mandala, also known as the circle of life. Meditative music and images of Tibetan sand mandalas inspire, while you explore symbolic imagery and add personal meaning to your work. Use design tools, markers, and watercolors, and a touch of bling. Presented by Lauren Singer.
Please have these materials ready before class begins—you may draw and/or paint. Substitute whatever you have on hand:
-Drawing paper or heavy paper or board to paint on–approx. 9” x 12” – Feel free to use printing paper, cardboard, etc.
-Pencil with eraser
-Pens: ballpoint, felt tip, roller tip etc.
-Round plate, lid or bowl, approx. 7” diameter, to trace your initial Mandala circle. It’s best to leave a margin around the circle of a few inches.
-A ruler, protractor or any straight edge
-A compass for making graduated circles (optional)
-OPTIONAL: Colored pencils, crayon, oil pastel, markers or other dry colored media for drawing.
-OPTIONAL: Watercolors, gouache or acrylic paint, fine point brushes, water container, paper towel– if using a heavier paper or board to paint on.
-OPTIONAL: A rhinestone or sequin can be glued on the center for a touch of bling!
