Parents and teachers might know Brainfuse for their live online tutoring services; Brainfuse, however, also offers a wide variety of career-related resources for adults. The Adult Learning Center on Brainfuse features resources and live professional assistance in resume/cover letter writing, test preparation (GED, U.S. Citizenship, college entrance, GRE/GMAT, nursing school exams, etc.), career specific descriptions and credentialing details, essential computer skills, ESL, and more. You can even submit your resume to be evaluated by a writing expert for free.
Career Cruising
Career Cruising is a one-stop resource for all things career-related. It offers information and tools on all aspects of finding employment, including career assessment and exploration, educational requirements and programs, job search, resume builder, interviewing skills, advice regarding on-the-job issues, and more. Career cruising is also available in Spanish.
Long Island 2-1-1 – Employment
Looking for employment-related resources and services on Long island? Long Island 2-1-1 provides links and information under categories such as employment preparation, job finding assistance, job development, training and employment programs, employment transition counseling, volunteer service programs, and more.
Hoonuit Online Courses
Whether you are just starting out in your career or looking to expand your skill-set, Hoonuit can teach you everything from Adobe Animate to time management. Hoonuit is an online educational platform offering courses in career skills, design, mobile devices, programming, and software and technology. Learners can select brief course modules or more in-depth course pathways such as Office 365 Essentials and Adobe Illustrator Creative Cloud Essentials. Some courses also provide a Certificate of Completion that can be linked to a resume or job application.
Niche Academy
Networking through online applications is now more important than ever. Niche Academy features how-to video tutorials for online applications such as LinkedIn, Twitter, Gmail, Facebook, Instagram, and more. Certain employment positions require a standard or CDL driver’s license. Drivingtests.org provides handbooks and practice tests for NYS DMV driver’s license tests, including standard, CDL, and motorcycle.
